A beautiful winter ceremony at Lincoln Cathedral and Doddington Hall wedding reception here with Olivia and James.
Groom prep
Its always nice to capture groom preparations but timings don’t mean thats always something I can capture when shooting alone. If you definitely want groom prep you can always add on a second photographer to your booking. James was getting ready in one of the beautiful cottages at Doddington Hall with all his groomsmen.
Bridal prep
I then headed into the city to Olivia’s parents house which was just a short walk from Lincoln Cathedral. It was lovely to capture everyone getting ready. Olivia’s grandma painting her nails and getting the homemade sausage rolls out of the oven (not at the same time). Grandad pouring the toast drinks, and Olivia’s mum putting the finishing touches to her bouquet. Lots of sweet moments from this lovely family home.
A Cathedral Ceremony
The Cathedral is so beautiful but there are only a few places as a photographer you’re allowed to be in during the ceremony. I made sure to pop along to the rehearsal to prioritise the shots that meant the most to James and Olivia.
Doddington Hall
The wedding breakfast was at Doddington Hall which has the most beautiful gardens all year round. With it being a 2pm ceremony in February we just had enough time for some family group shots and couple shots before the sunset. We then headed to the Coach house where everyone was waiting to greet the couple. The room looked incredible, dressed with lots of foliage and seasonal flowers by Catkin Flowers.
Olivia’s dress was by Laure de Sagazan and was every bit as beautiful as it looks. There is a retailer in Notting Hill and Bristol or Paris if you fancy making a trip of it. One of the most exquisite dresses I have seen.
If you’re getting married at Lincoln Cathedral and Doddington Hall and in need of a photographer please do get in touch. I’d love to hear more of your plans.
